Abstract.
Homotopy theoretic tools for non-simply-connected co-H-spaces are produced for further developments. But a series of complexes is constructed whose homology is concentrated in dimensions 1, n+1, n+5 for n > 4 as co-H-spaces not to be split into a one-point-sum of a simply connected space and a bunch of circles, thus the Ganea conjecture fails for general co-H-spaces. We do not know about co-H-spaces whose homology is concentrated in dimensions 1, n+1,..., n+d for some n, if 2 < d < 5.
