Abstract.
The problem 10 posed by Tudor Ganea is a question on a co-H-space, a space with co-multiplication: Does a connected co-H-space have the homotopy type of a one-point-sum of a wedge sum of circles and a simply connected space? The affirmative answer is usually supposed to be true and come to be called as 'the Ganea conjecture'. In this paper, we show a homological property of co-H-spaces in a slightly general situation. As a corollary, we get the Ganea conjecture for co-H-spaces whose homology is concentrated in dimensions 1, n+1 and n+2 for some n.
