Professor Kazuo Okamoto is a Japanese mathematician born in Tsukiji, Tokyo.
He contributes deeply to the field of differential equations in complex domain.
In particular, he has revealed various analytic/algebraic/geometric
aspects of the Painlevé equations:
Hamiltonian structure, affine Weyl group symmetry, the space of initial values, etc.
This conference is planed in honor of Professor Kazuo Okamoto's 60-th birthday.
The program theme is to explore recent progress in the field of differential equations,
particularly related to the Painlevé equations.
