Purpose of the seminar: 

	Lie group representation theory and harmonic analysis on Lie groups and on their homogeneous 
spaces form a significant and important area of mathematical research. Interest in these areas began 
soon after World War II and has gained much strength since then. These areas are interrelated with 
various other mathematical fields such as number theory, algebraic geometry, differential geometry, 
operator algebra, partial differential equations and mathematical physics. Keeping up with the fast 
development of this exciting area of research, Ali Baklouti (University of Sfax) and Takaaki Nomura 
(Kyushu University) launched a series of seminars on the topic, the first of which took place on 
November 2009 in Kerkennah Islands, and the second of which was held in Sousse (Tunisia) on December 2011. 
The main focus of these seminars were in the area of Analysis and on topics of joint collaboration 
sponsored by the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Technology in Tunisia (MHESRT) 
and the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS). Many experts from both countries have been 
involved in running this seminar and have contributed greatly in making it a success.  
	This was a major incentive for both Ali Baklouti and Takaaki Nomura to organize a third 
Tunisian-Japanese meeting which aims at exploring topics such as commutative harmonic analysis (Fourier 
analysis on Euclidean spaces), analysis on homogeneous spaces, uncertainty principles and geometric 
analysis and some of their applications such as stochastic analysis and spectral theory.
Venue:   The conference takes place in El Mouradi Palace Hotel (5 stars), Hammamet.

Airport:
The hotel is located 80 km away from Tunis-Cartage Airport, and 40 km away from Enfidha airport.
You may also come through Monastir airport (but not very recommended).

Transportation to the Hotel: (added AUG. 21, 2013)
The standard way to move from Tunis-Carthage airport to Hammamet is the following:
1. Take a taxi from the airport to the main train station.
2. Take the train to B. BOU REKBA. The website of the SNCFT for timetable of trains.
3. Take once again another taxi from BirBouregba.to the hotel.
However, we do not recommend this option. We plan to organize common taxis from the Airport to the hotel.
The single way costs around 40 Euros, which can be shared among travelers.
So, please have in mind to send us the exact time of your arrival as soon as you can, so that we can schedule common Taxis.
This option is also valid for people coming through Enfidha Airport.

Accommodation:
All the lectures and activities of the conference will take place in the hotel.

On December 17, the registration and the check-in start at 15 h.

Registration Fees:150 Euros or its equivalent in Dinars.
Accommodation Fees: 250 Euros or its equivalent in Dinars.
Accompanying persons: 250 Euros or its equivalent in Dinars.
This covers the whole period of the conference in the hotel with the option "Soft All Inclusive"
(better than the option "Full Board") and also the social program.

If you plan to stay more extra days before or after the conference period, please inform the local organizers
for booking as soon as you get you air-tickets.

For local people: 500 Dinars. All the modalities of lodging families could be found in the web site of the hotel.

Proceedings:
We plan to publish Proceedings of the conference.
A special issue of Advances in Pure and Applied Mathematics will be devoted to this purpose.
The Proceedings of the first conference are now available.
The special volume for the second conference has appeared online.

Social Program:
We plan to visit Dougga.

A trip to the desert: A trip to the south of Tunisia will be organized before and after the conference.
This issue will not be handled by the organizers of the conference, but by an independent travel agency.

For accompanying people, a sightseeing service will be available at the hotel along the days of the conference.
The travel agency will require from the visitors the places they would like to visit.
This service is not free, but there will be special prices by the occasion of the conference.

Internet: A free internet Wifi connection will be offered to the conference participants.

We encourage the participants to ask for funds from their home institutions to attend.
The conference budget is quite limited.
A small number of funds will be especially devoted to young researchers to attend.
